Situated at 25 km from Maastricht and 40 km from Aachen, on a major motorway network leading to Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt, Liège is very easy to reach.

Be careful: Liege is translated by « Luik » in Dutch, and by « Lüttich » in German.

By plane

Most scheduled flights fly into Brussels National airport (based in Zaventem). Liège can be reached by train via Louvain/Leuven or Brussels-North station (approx. 1 hour).

Some scheduled flights from the UK and Ireland (Ryanair) use Charleroi airport, located in Charleroi, 60 kilometers to the south of Brussels. Take city bus Line A from outside the airport departures hall to Charleroi-Sud train station for €3. From here there are direct trains to Liège every hour between 5.00 and 23.00. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.

By car

From Brussels or Antwerp via E 40 or E 313

  1. From Brussels, on A3 – E 40, take the A602/E25 exit to Liège/Luxemburg.
  2. Take exit 33 to Liège-Center, keep through 280 meters.
  3. Roundabout: take 2nd exit to Luxemburg, keep through 600 meters.
  4. Turn left on Rue Saint-Laurent, keep through 350 meters.
  5. Turn right on Rue Wazon, keep through 25 meters.
  6. Turn right to stay on Rue Wazon, keep through 550 meters.
  7. Turn left on Rue Saint-Gilles, keep through 300 meters.
  8. Turn right when arriving at rue Saint Gilles 173 to enter HEC Liège parking lot.

From Luxemburg via E 25/E411

  1. On E 25-Highwayfollow signs to Liège/Aachen/Brussels/Maastricht, keep through 1,6 kilometers.
  2. Keep through on A 602 (signs to Liège/Brussels/Aachen/Maastricht), keep through 3,6 kilometers.
  3. Take exit 36, keep through 350 meters.
  4. Roundabout: take 1st exit on Avenue de l’Observatoire to Brussels/Center et keep through 140 meters.
  5. Slight right turn on Rue de Joie, keep through 69 meters.
  6. Roundabout take 3rd exit on Rue Edouard Wacken, keep through 260 meters.
  7. Keep through on Jardin Troisfontaines for 220 meters.
  8. Turn left on Rue Nysten, keep through 240 meters.
  9. Keep through on Rue Defrance for 170 meters.
  10. Turn right on Rue Saint Gilles, keep through 300 meters.
  11. Turn right when arriving at rue Saint Gilles 173 to enter HEC Liège parking lot.

From Aachen

  1. From Aachen on the A3/E40 to Lüttich-Liège/Verviers, take the left exit to E25 to Liège/Luxemburg, keep through 1,5 kilometers.
  2. Keep through on A602 for 4,2 kilometers.
  3. Take exit 33 to Liège-Center, keep through 280 meters.
  4. Roundabout: take 2nd exit to Luxembourg keep through 600 meters.

By train

The city’s main railway station – Liège-Guillemins – is located in the south-western part of the city. The station is served by Thalys and ICE high speed trains to and from Brussels, Paris, Aachen, Cologne and Frankfurt. Liège-Guillemins is located 2 kilometers, or 20 minute walk from HEC Liège. You can easily walk from the station to the school.

By bus

  • From Liège-Guillemins Station, take the bus number 20 and get off at stop HEC: Rue Louvrex, N°14.
  • From the city center, take bus number 20, 21, 22, or 23 which all go up Rue Saint Gilles and request the HEC stop. You can also take the main bus routes 1 or 4 towards Boulevard d’Avroy, stop at Rue Saint Gilles. Walk up this street, and take the first left: Rue Louvrex, N°14.
